# Logs and data retention

> See your requests, and choose how long we keep their content.

`GET /v1/logs` lists your organization's requests, newest first. Filter by `status`, `key_id`, `path_prefix`, `start` and `end`. Logs need the `logs:read` scope.

Each row has the request ID, status, error code, duration and credits charged. We keep these rows for 90 days. Speech, transcription and translation requests are always logged, as are changes made through the rest of the API. Those changes are logged without their contents.

## Storing content

By default we don't store what you send or get back from speech, transcription and translation. To keep it for debugging, choose a retention period of 1, 7, 30 or 90 days:

```bash theme={null}
curl https://api.vocalistic.ai/v1/organization/data-retention -X PUT \
  -H 'Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY' \
  -H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
  -d '{"retention_days": 7}'
```

Then `GET /v1/logs/{request_id}` includes the text, and `GET /v1/logs/{request_id}/audio?kind=input` or `kind=output` returns the audio.

Anyone in your organization with the `logs:read` scope can read stored content, which includes viewers. Set retention back to 0 and we delete stored content within a day. Shortening the period works the same way.

> [!WARNING]
>
> If you handle sensitive audio, leave retention at 0.
